I’ve been posting some of my sports pics lately, but this one from the Associated Press is incredible. Click on the image to read about how it was made.

Don’t I know it!
Thanks to Angelina Bellebuono via Facebook, who says “A friend sent this to me. The company he works for has been cleaning out the old AJC (Atlanta Journal-Consitution) building in Atlanta. He found this on the side of an old filing cabinet. For those who don’t know, the ajc moved their offices to Dunwoody and the building is being donated to the city of Atlanta.
It is wonderful that the Cox family has …enough money to donate a building, but that they’ve trimmed their staff to almost nothing.
Here’s to journalism, folks. maybe all I need is a cellphone camera.”

Photo of the Day …
Thanks to Shell Barbee of Sylvania, Ga., right, for letting me share the conclusion of her big shopping day in Statesboro. Sheltered from a late morning rain, she waited for her ride with a shopping cart full of the day’s take. She was one of those Black Friday shoppers who began her bargain quest at 3:00 a.m., and she was a little embarrassed and afraid of looking worse for the wear. But she relented, gave me her name, and I told her she was definitely an icon for the story of the day. How’d she do? “I made out, today!”

Screven County’s Michaella Edwards, top, reaches over Statesboro High’s Aneisha Drummer, right, and Shanika Buie and gets called for a foul in the third quarter Tuesday. Buie scored on the play and earned a trip to the foul line.

Before they even saw my local pic, the sports desk selected this wire photo from the Nets/Hawks game.
What can I say? Great minds think alike.
